Project: Stepping Stones to Stability: Collaboration across South West London

Salary: £28k plus pension contribution

Hours: Monday to Friday, 35 hours a week

Location:  the post is primarily based at Z2K offices in Victoria and Queens Park, but the post holder will be expected to work from other locations, including the offices of South West London Law Centre.

The Zacchaeus 2000 Trust (Z2K) is looking to appoint a Client Support Co-ordinator to work with clients and communities across Westminster, Wandsworth and Lambeth. The main purpose is to help clients access existing support services and training in order to achieve their goals and ensure long term positive outcomes.  Not only will you be working directly with clients, you will be recruiting and co-ordinating a bank of volunteers to work with clients on a one to one basis.

The post is part of a partnership project called Stepping Stones to Stability, funded to 2020 by the Big Lottery under its Help Through Crisis Fund.  Stepping Stones to Stability is an ambitious project, led by the South West London Law Centres with Z2K as a partner.  Other organisations partnering in the project include the Katherine Low Settlement in Battersea and The Ace of Clubs in Clapham.  All project partners are committed to combining advice services with addition support services to achieve long term positive outcomes for our clients.  You will play an important role in supporting all partner organisations to demonstrate the benefits of combining advice services with support and wrap around services.

This is a relatively new role and is being advertised as a maternity cover.  The current post holder will be starting her maternity leave in July. Prior to her departure, a strategy and implementation plan will be agreed for the work.  However, there is still scope for the maternity cover to work with the partners to develop these plans and how the project will be delivered.

Overall purpose of the post

  • The overall design and delivery of a project which can offer additional support and training to clients who are in crisis.
  • Co-ordination and link-up of existing services which can offer relevant support
  • Training and management of volunteers who can buddy up with clients and encourage the take-up of existing services
  • Monitoring and evaluation
  • Direct working with clients in an empowering way to support clients to identify their own needs in terms of moving out of crisis

About You

You are likely to have a background in two of more of the following areas: welfare benefits advice, volunteer co-ordination, identifying and co-ordinating existing support services across a range of organisation, direct service delivery to clients.  This is your opportunity to play a vital role in a project with multiple longer term benefits for clients and the volunteers who work with them.
