Mick McAteer has been elected by Z2K’s board of trustees as the Trust’s new Chair. Mick is a seasoned financial campaigner and he is looking forward to bringing his expertise to bear at a time when the need for Z2K’s services is greater than ever. He is the founder and Director of The Financial Inclusion Centre, a UK based not-for-profit think tank that promotes fair, inclusive, efficient and accountable financial markets.
Mick is also Chairman of the European Commission’s Financial Services User Group (FSUG), a board member of the CARITAS (Westminster) Advisory Board, and member of the Registry Trust Consumer Panel.
Mick is taking the place of His Honour Judge Jan Luba QC who served as a dedicated and diligent Chair for nearly three years. Jan is also stepping down as a s trustee and although he will be sorely missed we are delighted that the reason for his leaving was his appointment last December to be a Circuit Judge. Jan is currently deployed to South Eastern Circuit and based at Central London and County Court.
There are also a number of other changes among Z2K’s trustees. We are sad to say goodbye to Lizzie Cadbury and Natalie Foster, both of whom have stepped down today as trustees. Alongside Mick we also welcomed Randeep Ramesh, Dame Ruth Runciman and Emma Lough to the board in February and today they are joined by Kay Lau as our new financial trustee. We are sure that their combined extensive experience and expertise will serve to guide Z2K through these challenging times.
