April sees the start of some of the biggest ever changes to the welfare benefits system that will roll out nationally over the next few years. This includes several means-tested benefits being replaced by a new Universal Credit, the introduction of a benefits cap, localisation of Council Tax support, and the introduction of Personal Independence Payment replacing Disability Living Allowance.
This year’s Benefits Awareness Month campaign aims to raise awareness of these upcoming changes and help all those who could be affected to start getting prepared.
Turn2us is hosting a dedicated website called Benefits Awareness featuring full information on each of the changes, including details of when and where they are taking place, plus tips for anyone who might be affected.
Benefits Awareness Month runs from 3rd to 30th April 2013. For more information, please visit the website.
